Vallunaraju at 5,686 meters, 18,654, is one of the few peaks in the Cordillera Blanca that can be climbed in two days. The climb is an enjoyable, moderate mountaineering adventure, with great views from all aspects during the climb. Climbing Vallunaraju is suitable for beginner and experienced climbers, who are looking for work on their mountaineering skills, crevasse and snow travel and ice climbing. This climbing can be for people, who are looking for attempt to have a great climbing mountaineering experience in otherwise can be used as acclimatization for climbers, who are looking for climbing higher summits in this mountain region.

Itinerary Description

Challenge your limit Climbing mount Vallunaraju

Day 1: Huaraz - Base Camp – moraine camp (5000m)/16,400ft.
We drive from Huaraz to narrow llaca valley at the end of the road on the head of the valley, where is located the base camp and the mountain refuge, which is belong of high mountain school, this please offer impressive view south face of mounts ocshapalca and ranrapalca. Our route goes to the moraine on steeply grassy great path at least for 40 minutes then become moderate with some steep sections until reach the moraine camp, where in the afternoon we will have chance to focus the most exiting pictures on the sun is setting.
Overnight at moraine camp

Day 2: attempt vallunaraju summit at (5686m)/18,650ft - moraine camp – base camp – Huaraz.
summit day: as soon as we reach the beginning of the glacier on the west face, we put on our climbing gear as crampons, rope up, harness, then we generally start climbing up on hard ice until find the good snow slopes field with some steep sections until reach the cool between north and south peaks then we follow climbing up until reach the north or south summit depending the year or mountain conditions, on the top we will take the most stunning and unforgettable pictures, after that we will start descending on the same route up until moraine camp, then we will follow down until base camp, where our private transportation is waiting us to bring Huaraz Finish Our Climb. Back to Huaraz for a nice shower in the hotel and some rest; enjoy a good dinner celebrating in y the town.

Optional for people who fell not in good shape and want to do more leisure, we offer or recommend make in 3 days. The day 02 we move to beginning of the glacier to have a basic climbing instruction then we will back to the moraine.

Note: nowadays we are not highly recommended because the car road is in bad condition absolutely not advisable, but if you take a service of pickup 4x4 with that one you will get to your goal.
